The Beaches

Sunglasses : Polette

Here is my look for today!

This past weekend I stayed in The Beaches in Toronto. It was actually my first time (shockingly) in that area of Toronto and I loved it. The quaint beautiful cottage style homes, the 5 minute walk from anywhere to the beach, the relaxing restaurants on every corner of the street. It was so relaxing and the environment was so welcoming. The house I stayed at, had this big beautiful front porch looking out to a stunning neighbourhood, surrounded by massive trees. I would most definitely move to this area in a heart beat. It is however a very expensive area, but on the right street or half home to rent, I could make it work (maybe).

Train Tracks

Here is my look for today!

I went for a very casual outfit today because its boiling hot and I couldn't stand being in dressier clothes. Its also the weekend and time for everyone to begin Canada Day festivities. Canada Day isn't until Tuesday, but everyone will be celebrating all through the weekend. My friends are all over the place this weekend, camping, cottaging, heading to Ottawa, staying in Toronto so I have NO idea what I'm doing yet. I figured this outfit is comfy and casual to work with whatever I end up choosing in the end. Make sure to check out my Instagram for the latest :)

Sunday Funday

Here is my look for today!

I forgot to add these photos of my day/outfit this past Sunday. To be honest I lost my cord that connects my camera to my computer, which is the reason for a few days of no posts. Finally I found it, buried underneath clothes in my room...typical.
I always love going to farmers markets to pick up fresh fruits and vegetables, but this time I ended up going opposite and buying candy, lemonade and chocolate milk. My sisters and I finished our day at a local restaurant near my house with some pizza and caesars on the patio.

Green Tea Lemonade

Here is my look for today!

It was a beautiful hot day today and luckily I had the day off from work. Unfortunately I wasn't able to lounge around in the sun or head to the beach, instead my day was full of running errands. I made the perfect outfit decision with my blouse, but not so much with my black jeans. It was a hot one, so of course I had to grab my favourite summer drink from Starbucks, green tea lemonade. Delicious! I showcased this blouse for the first time on my Instagram last week, but of course I had to make sure to show off the full detail on the blog. I adore the criss cross detail with a touch of skin showing at the front, but the back of this blouse is where its at!!

Coconut

Here is my look for today!

I tend to always pick out brighter coloured clothing, but when I tried this Pink Stitch dress on I fell in love with the classy combination of cream and beige. I definitely have more of a tan but I was always afraid to wear white, because I thought it would wash me out. With a bit of tan, the white really stands out and I'm falling in love with this colour combination. I think the combo is so simple but classy and this hat worked perfectly with the colour combination.

The Little Things

Have you ever lost yourself before? It sounds so strange and so heavy but the last few months I felt like I haven't really been myself. For whatever reason I've been feeling down and not my happy, cheerful self. It hit me one day when I realized I wasn't really enjoying anything, especially the little things, which always make me happy. I woke up the other day and decided it was time to change. I know you must be wondering why the hell am I talking about this after posting flower photos, but my point is make sure you ALWAYS enjoy the little things. The little things for me are picking out flowers for my gardens, coffee and tea, driving with the windows down, treating myself to a butter tart at my favourite cafe, sitting in silence watching the sun set on my roof or going for a walk around my block listening to my favourite music. I decided to concentrate on gardening and starting my own vegetable garden to help get me back to my happy place. I am an earth sign so its only fitting that playing in my backyard with nature would help snap me back.

I set off to my local garden centre on Saturday to pick up some flowers for planting and some seeds for my vegetable garden. I'm so excited, and its nice to get excited over these things again. I felt my life was dull and I had to get out of my funk and back to my 80 year old self, who gets excited over gardening and tea time.

I will make sure to keep you guys updated with my gardens and how my vegetable garden is shaping up.

Yacht Club

I first saw this dress when a close friend came into my work wearing the grey one and I knew I had to purchase it. Unfortunately the grey was sold out, so I fell for the darker black and grey mix. I was very close to getting the blue/black one, but I figured this can go with anything!

I absolutely adore this new Wilfred Free dress from Aritzia because of how versatile it is. I can literally wear this dress with anything. Pair some converse, flip flops, sandals, booties, stilettos. Pop on a blazer, cardigan, belt it, hair up, hair down, you name it. This would be the ideal dress to dress up for work, then go right from work to a night out by adjusting a few things. I feel super sexy in it because of the slim fit, but classy with the longer length. I could also sleep in this if I wanted to, because its so beyond comfortable. A lot of sizes are sold out, online and in stores, but I suggest everyone has a dress like this in their closet.
