Beach Day

In case you are all wondering, no I did not wear these wedges to the beach. I decided to jazz up the photo a bit and wear them but if I was going to some fancy beach party I would totally wear these!!
Anyways, I went to the beach today and this is what I wore (minus the wedges). I didn't want to bring my camera to the beach because last time I did I was worried about it being stolen while I was in the water and then sand got all stuck in and around it. Not so smart on my part.
I decided to take some quick shots in my backyard before I left of my bathing suit and cover up.
This cover up I found at Value Village but is a resort cover up and it's actually from the same resort I stayed at a few years ago in Dominican, so I thought it was meant to be.
If you guys want to check out everything I brought with me today, check out my Beach Essentials post.

Victoria's Secret PINK Body Products

My really pale friend walked into work one day and I complimented her on how tan her legs looked. She told me she had bought the Victoria's Secret PINK Luminous Body Bronzer. I instantly knew I had to get it because I am just as pale as she is. I've always been so skeptical on bronzing lotions because I always thought I'm too pale so it will end up looking like I've applied lotion or make me look orange.
When my friend walked in she truly looked like she just had a natural tan which is what I loved, I had no idea she applied a lotion.
Right after work I went over and of course bought myself some. They have a whole bunch of different scents and I went with the Warm and Cozy scent. Warning though, you honestly will majorly smell like this all day. Really strong scent and after awhile I wasn't sure I made the right decision about my scent choice. Another girl from work also went and bought a bottle and she bought it in this really coconut, summer smell and I think I would have preferred that one. Anyways, regardless the lotion was fantastic. I got so many compliments and everyone was shocked how nice my legs looked. I get made fun of all the time for how pale I am so everyone was super shocked that I actually had tanned legs. You can use this lotion all over your body but I just decided my legs because I'm always wearing skirts and shorts now. Tanned legs really do look so much nicer. When applying this lotion just make sure you really rub it in because it can be a bit streaky. Also make sure your careful around the knees and the back of the knee.
Overall fantastic lotion and if you want to have a natural tan look, then this lotion is great!

When I went to PINK they had a buy 2 for $25 deal on body products. This bronzer cost $18 so I thought I might as well pick something else up. I truly didn't really want anything else so I randomly picked this 2 in one wash and scrub lotion for the shower, in the same scent Warm and Cozy. I thought about this after and realized this lotion is full of fragrance and probably not good for my skin. I used it anyways really hoping I wouldn't have a reaction to it and successfully didn't. Again, super strong scent, I will use it up but definitely won't be repurchasing. I felt sorta dry when I got out of the shower, but then again I usually do, so this didn't moisturize me or anything.
If you don't have dry or sensitive skin and you love a nice scent, this is perfect for you.

Floral A-line Skirt

Here is my look for today!

I really do have an obsession with a full A-line skirt. I think they look the most flattering on me and you can tuck almost any shirt in and you look classy and stylish!!
I usually have an issue with some A-line skirts as I'm tiny around my waist but I'm tall. The smaller I go, the shorter it is. However, most Jacob skirts fit me perfectly, which is why I love them so much!

Beach Essentials

Summer is upon us and that means on our days off we are most likely heading to the beach to soak up some sun and play in the water!!
I thought it would be nice to make a beach essentials post for everything you might need at the beach.

First and foremost, when laying out in the sun all day, protecting your skin is very important. Nobody wants wrinkled skin or worse skin cancer later in life, so it's crucial to take care of your very delicate skin.
I usually settle with an SPF 30 and sometimes an SPF 45 for my face, because the skin on your face is the most delicate and thin.

I had heard wonderful things about the Hawaiian Tropics Silk Hydration After Sun Moisturizer in Coconut Papaya, so I thought I would try out that one, plus try their regular SPF 30 in the Silk Hydration line.
It feels like your putting on a really nice smelling moisturizer, but it's protecting your skin. The after sun moisturizer is super hydrating, but cooling at the same time to really heal your skin after a day in the sun.

For footwear I always go with a fun, bright sandal that's easy to slip on and off. It's always a pain trying to put strappy gladiators on and off when your walking from the beach to your car. I found this amazing pair of flip flops at Value Village and the brand is A.co!
It's also a must to protect your eyes and to also look summer beachy chic with a pair of Ray Ban Aviators.
Top it off with an ipod full of summer tunes and you will be entertained for hours while laying out.

It's also crucial to have some fun summer magazines and I just picked up the new LOU LOU summer style edition. The other side of the magazine is the beauty summer edition.

Another beauty essential is an SPF lip balm.  Nobody wants burned, chapped lips, so I picked up an SPF 20 Softlips in Strawberry Sherbet. Out of all my lip balms I shockingly didn't have one in an SPF. (Shame on me)

Another must of course is a fun beach bag to hold all your beach essentials. I found this bag last year at Value Village and I love that it's a see through kinda crate bag.

Lastly, of course you need a bathing suit!! The brighter the better I say so I will be wearing my two new bathing suits. My orange top is from Adore Me and my tie-dye bathing suit plus both bottoms are from Victoria's Secret. I don't have any bathing suit tops like this and thought these are fun and flattering, so I bought two of them for the summer. I also added some cover-ups with each bathing suit. Crochet type cardigans that are see through are great for the summer and as beach cover ups. Both are from Value Village, but I'm pretty positive they were originally from Wal-Mart.

Add a towel and you are good to go!!

These are my beach essentials. What are your must have beach essentials!?

BIODERMA

I have been obsessing over beauty bloggers/vloggers lately and all they have been talking about is this BIODERMA gentle water cleanser. Some people can use it to just wipe makeup off your face or you can use it as a full cleanser.
Most of the UK bloggers/vloggers loved this product and even sometimes had to go to France to pick this product up because it is a french company and is hard to find. Even American bloggers/vloggers can't find it and when they visit the UK they pick some up there too.
I figured that Canada for sure would not have this product so I didn't really try to look for it. That was until I randomly went into a Rexall pharmacy to check out their products and came across the BIODERMA line! I was so ecstatic I instantly bought the medium sized bottle for $22. There is a smaller bottle to try out and a bigger bottle also which I didn't see.
Honestly this product is fantastic. I use my Lancome makeup remover to take my eye makeup off and then I take a cotton pad and wipe the BIODERMA all over my face. Usually I do it two times, one to get my initial makeup off and then the second to get anything I missed. Then I let it dry and apply my moisturizer. No need to wash it off or apply water to the face first.
Seriously my face is smooth, flawless and it evens my skin tone out. I have been using some great moisturizers lately too which I think together gives a glow to my face but I love this product.
I also came across the line at Shoppers drug mart, so now everyone in Canada can try this product out :)

What I like about this product also, is that I don't have to use any water and I find it's kinda fun to use it at night to see all the gunk that comes off my face from the cotton pads. (which is weirdly satisfying for me)
I also love that this is a water cleanser and is super gentle. I wouldn't suggest this for acne prone skin because I don't think it's strong enough, but if you get random break outs like me, this is great!!

Floral Onesie

Here is my look for today!

I found this cute jumper at Value Village and I was so ecstatic that it fit me pretty perfectly. Most onesies don't fit my length but this was perfect and I love how big the shorts are. It also looks like a vest/shorts in one and the floral print is perfect for the summer :)

New Phone Cases

Ever since I got my iphone for Christmas I've been using my Christmasy red penguin phone case (which I get made fun of a lot for). You can check out that phone case (here). That was the only phone case I had, so I decided to build it up a wee bit considering most people have tons of phone cases.

I spotted this Chanel nail polish phone case in a lot of the European blogs a few weeks back and I knew I had to have one. I'm a huge lover for Chanel and I thought these phone cases were so much fun!!
I ordered mine on etsy last month..took super long to come in but I'm so glad it's finally here. I decided to go for the pink one, great for spring/summer, but you can pick between other colours.

I saw this Victoria's Secret phone case online and again thought it was so much fun/cute. What's better then a pineapple wearing sunglasses, right!?
I really wish it didn't say PINK at the bottom but nonetheless I think it's hilarious.
However, most of my friends don't feel the same. I have been made fun of almost from everyone that notices my case. What's wrong with it, it's hilarious!!
Anyways, I had a $10 off card for Victoria's Secret, so I decided to finally buy it. I think this phone case would be great for mid summer :)

Two Colours, One Blouse

I bought two of the same blouses at Jacob just in two different colours. I really loved the blouse so I decided to go with the cobalt blue colour that I usually love and a mint colour, great for the summer.
I decided to do back to back posts to show you guys how you can mix up the asymmetrical blouse just by the different colours.
I decided to take the cobalt blue one and make it more of an evening, darker look. You can find that post (here)
The mint blouse I decided for more of a day summer look. You can find that post (here)

I hope this helps you guys mix together different outfits!
I also could wear a white pencil skirt with the mint blouse and black shorts tucked in with the cobalt blue blouse. (More appropriate for the warmer weather)
