Morning Smoothie


Note - I made a small smoothie in this picture. You can fill a full mason jar with the Magic Bullet.

I finally bought a Magic Bullet a few days ago and I've made myself a smoothie every morning. I've been wanting to start making myself smoothies in the mornings for a while now, but the blender I had was awful. This bad boy makes everything very easy. It is the perfect size for a single smoothie and the clean up is quick and easy. 
I've been doing a lot of research on what is beneficial to put in a smoothie and I have heard nothing but amazing things about flax and chia seeds. They are 'super foods' and are a great source of omega-3 fats and fibres along with numerous other things. Chia seeds can be fairly expensive so I get mine at Bulk Barn which is the cheapest place I have found so far.  


I also like to add a table spoon of coconut oil which you can use for so many different things. Not to mention there are also many benefits from coconut oil. I could write a novel naming everything but it may be easier for you to just check out more info (here). Side note I used coconut oil on my face this morning as a moisturizer and it's lovely!!
The main items I add in my smoothies are organic mango chunks, strawberries, a banana, kiwi, almond milk (or coconut water) and a pinch of cinnamon. 


I think I'm going to start adding a protein powder to my smoothies but I need to research on that a little bit more before I buy anything.

Every week I'm going to try and mix my smoothies up by adding different fruit or vegetables like kale, greek yogurt, peaches etc.
